Floral Arrangement

We have been arranging flowers in Riyadh for years, for homes, offices and events. Here you will find arrangement types and styles, the full rose hub, examples of our work, and ideas to help you choose the right arrangement or request your own.

Roses

The Rose Hub

Roses are around 60% of what florists in Saudi Arabia sell, and Riyadh customers like them open, not tight in bud. Most arrive from Kenya and Ethiopia (excellent value, 40–60 cm stems), Ecuador and Colombia (big heads, 60–80 cm), and the Netherlands (premium and garden varieties). Saudi-grown roses from greenhouses in the Riyadh, Qassim and Tabuk regions are increasingly available, and the Taif rose is the Kingdom's heritage bloom every April.

Prices are estimates reflecting the usual average at premium Riyadh flower shops for a single stem, before arranging, wrapping, vase and delivery. They vary by season, colour, country of origin and availability.

Rose care in Riyadh

Recut 2 cm at an angle, remove leaves below the waterline, use flower food, change water every two days, keep away from AC vents, direct sun and fruit bowls (ethylene). Riyadh tip: mist the heads lightly in summer and never leave the bouquet in a parked car.

Rose questions

What do rose colours mean?

Red says love and passion, white purity and new beginnings, light pink gratitude, yellow friendship and joy, orange enthusiasm. Choose the colour for the message, not the price.

How many roses should I give?

Twelve is the classic dozen, 50 is the most requested for special occasions in Riyadh, and 99 stands for lasting love. A single stem is a lovely gesture beside a gift or card.

What is the difference between Kenyan and Ecuadorian roses?

Kenyan and Ethiopian stems run 40–60 cm with medium heads and excellent value for high-count bouquets, while Ecuadorian and Colombian stems run 60–80 cm with large heads that suit boxes and luxury arrangements.

What is the Taif rose and when is it available?

The Taif rose is the damask rose grown in the mountains above Taif: small, deep pink and intensely fragrant. It is harvested in spring, around March and April, and used in garlands, gift trays and rose water.

Inspiration

Ideas & inspiration

Start from a colour, a flower, an occasion, a style or a size.

By style

Round & domed

An even, dome-shaped silhouette that reads classic and calm. Ideal for everyday bouquets and congratulations gifts.

Loose & garden style

Varied stem heights with free movement, as if just picked. Suits wide vases and dining tables.

Linear & architectural

Clean lines and few varieties so the flower's own form leads. A good fit for offices and receptions.

Cascading

A downward flow of long stems and foliage, used in bridal bouquets and larger event installations.

Colour pairings

White & green

Quiet and formal; right for offices, congratulations and formal occasions.

Blush tones

Soft and warm; suited to new babies, birthdays and personal gifts.

Burgundy & deep red

Deep and rich, used for evening events and romantic gifting.

Earthy neutrals

Beige, cream and soft brown for a contemporary look that sits well with modern interiors.

Vase styling

Practical steps

  1. 1

Start with foliage as the base, add the focal flower, then fill the gaps with smaller blooms.

  2. 2

Aim for an arrangement about one and a half times the height of the vase for balance.

  3. 3

Cut stems at an angle and strip any leaves that would sit below the water line.

  4. 4

Change the water every two days and keep the arrangement away from direct sun and air conditioning.
